CIRT Mission Statement

Our mission is to ensure that safety, health, and well-being of our community members by offering timely and effective responses to various mental health emergencies. We aim to bridge the gap between emergency/behavioral care and provide holistic peer support that respectfully and confidently integrates Santo Domingo Pueblo's cultural values and traditions.

CIRT Goals

  • Reduce dependence on Law Enforcement, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), emergency departments and tribal officials for behavioral health crisis situations.
  • Provide a crisis workforce to Santo Domingo who are well trained to respond and address urgent and emergent needs.
  • Include peers in crisis work to build rapport and give people someone to connect with who has similar experiences.
  • Expand support to the community to individuals who are pre and post crisis as well individuals who are currently experiencing a crisis.
  • Address systemic barriers by supporting individuals to access and engage with the services that will help them to be successful in their recovery.
