Census Enrollment Office
It is the mission of the Santo Domingo Census Enrollment Office to assist the Kewa community members in obtaining tribal and state issued identification cards and other legal documents. We work one on one with the Office of the Governor and all Tribal Programs to effectively service while being culturally sensitive to our Keres language and Santo Domingo Pueblo customs. The Census Enrollment Staff is available to answer any questions.
What We Offer
Marriage Reporting:
Congratulations to all the newlyweds! Please bring your marriage certificate to the Census Enrollment Office so we may update our database. We will start the process for any name changes and new Certificates of Degree of Indian Blood if needed.
New Mothers!
Did you know the Enrollment Office can assist with picking up your newborns baptismal and birth certificate? Our office is also able to aid with the process of Paternity Acknowledgement. Avoid the wait and let our office take care of these tasks for you. In addition, if you can’t come to our office we will come to you. Call to schedule a home visit appointment at (505) 585-0116. Our traditions and customs for Santo Domingo Pueblo include: getting your child’s Indian name, requesting for baptism, retrieving state/federal documents such as a Baptismal Certificate, Birth Certificate and Social Security card.
Death Certificate Process:
As everyone may know death is a sensitive subject for all to endure. In order for the Census Enrollment Office to process a death certificate, we would need the correct information from the decedents’ family and facilities to easily process and complete in a timely manner. When requesting a death certificate through the Census Office, please bring in any information that may pertain to the decedents last hours such as Hospice information, Hospital discharge papers, and or the names of EMT’s or Bureau of Indian Affairs that were called to the scene. Please note, there is no death certificate at the New Mexico Vital Records until it is reported to the Census Enrollment Office.
